While some people tend to gravitate towards red wine at this time of year, we find that a textured, racy white can feel just as luscious and enveloping. This pack has three distinctive whites from France, Italy and California.
2 bottles each of:
Name: Camille Giroud Aligote
Aligote, is a grape that is planted almost exclusively in Burgundy so over the years it has taken a backseat to the more-widely known (and profitable), Chardonnay. However, with proper wine-making it is highly appealing. This wine for instance is bright with notes of citrus, a mineral tang and a slight floral accent. It is incredibly refreshing and balanced.
Name: Paolo Conterno Arneis A Val
This wine is fermented in stainless steel, which produces a real fresh and clean quality to the wine. It has notes of citrus, pineapple and lily. It is delicious and has good persistence.
Name: Idlewild Wine Flora & Fauna White
Region: SONOMA COUNTY
Country: UNITES STATES
This special wine is made by Sam Bilbro, whose family is a big player in the Californian wine scene. Sam’s wine project is trying to establish something new and exciting - using primarily Northern Italian grapes (he became struck by the wines of Piedmont through his time in the hospitality industry) in Mendocino Country to create wines that are vibrant, pure and honest. This blend is comprised of mostly Muscat Bianco, Arneis, and a small part Cortese. It is structured, with notes of honey, wet stones, jasmine and orange blossoms.
