Tenuta di Arceno is a historic estate located at the Southern end of Chianti in Castelnuovo Berardenga, near the town of Siena. The estate produces premium level wines within the region's two classifications: the traditional, Sangiovese-focused Chianti Classico DOCG as well as IGT Toscana, which permits International varietals. This mixed case showcases Arceno's three different Chianti Classico DOCG wines.
Each case contains 2 bottles of each wine listed below:
Name: Chianti Classico 2018
Unmistakably Tuscan in origin, offering a level of depth, power and concentration that is rare for its classification.
92 Points, James Suckling
I like the ripeness and energy to this Chianti Classico with a plum, walnut and dried-meat undertone. Medium body, round and juicy tannins and a savory finish. Hints of burnt orange in the center palate. Flavorful finish. Drink now.
Name: Chianti Classico Riserva 2017
Arceno's Chianti Classico Riserva comes from some of the warmer, south-facing blocks at their estate. It is the epitome of modern Chianti Classico.
93 Points, James Suckling
Blackberries, blueberries and other blue fruit. Some stone and pine-needle undertones. Energetic and fresh for the vintage. Medium to full body and a vivid finish. Drink or hold.
Name: Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Strada al Sasso 2017
Sourced exclusively from the La Porta vineyard block, this is an intense, brooding, concentrated and complex wine.
94 Points, James Suckling
A creamy, polished red with blueberry, fresh-plum and some floral character. Medium body, fine tannins and a fruity finish. Reserved and refined. Linear freshness to this.
