The first vines were planted at Quinta da Romaneira in the early 1700s. Arguably the Douro Valley’s most breathtaking estate, Christian Seely found it in sadly run-down condition in 2004. Knowing the property absolutely had the potential to make great wine, he purchased it with the ambition of restoring the stunning vineyards to their former glory. The house focuses almost completely on unfortified dry wines and vintage style port and has secured its position among the elite producers of Douro wines and Port.
