Biodynamic Bosses

Each case contains 2 bottles of each:

Domaine Weinbach 2020 Sylvaner / Alsace, France

Delicious biodynamic Sylvaner from one of the very top estates in Alsace. Mineral-driven and elegant.

93 Pts, James Suckling (previous vintage)

Although this was made from the least “popular” of the Alsace grape varieties, this is a beauty, with a wide spectrum of white and yellow fruit, the kind of concentration you expect from old vines and quite some power at the long, fresh finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Cullen 2018 Dancing In The Sun / Margaret River, Australia

As their winemaker puts it, "life is a dance!! A dance between the sun and the moon...The moon is the most important planet in our biodynamic practice and the sun gives us life."

92 Points, Wine & Spirits

This is a dry-grown blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon (with a little verdelho) from Vanya Cullen’s biodynamically farmed vineyard near the coast in Wilyabrup. There’s no oak to get in the way of this wine’s lovely fruit, the crunchy nectarine and kumquat flavors held tight, with a whisper of underlying creaminess at the liminal space between the earth and the sea.

Felton Road 2020 Bannockburn Riesling / Central Otago, New Zealand

Demeter-certified fruit from a vineyard designed back in 1991. Winemaking is hands-off with wild yeasts, wild malo and an avoidance of filtration and fining. This wine expresses its terroir wonderfully with aromas of citrus, ginger and minerality on the nose. There is a burst of sweetness at the start but it's balanced by acidity and a vibrancy at once. Tropical fruits on the finish, which lingers for some time.
