This pack has something for everyone. We've filled this case with some fantastic bottles for your immediate enjoyment over the holidays (however they may look this year)! There is a thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc, a collaboration between MW Steve Smith in New Zealand and Steven Campbell for the carbon-neutral wine project, Campbell Kind Wine. Badenhorst’s Chenin is a delicious foray into a white grape that you may be less likely to have tried but are sure to love (think creamy apples, white stone fruit, some nutty nuance and good acid). Finally, among the reds is Telmo Rodriguez’s Pegaso Zeta – a fantastic Garnacha that exemplifies his work in revolutionizing the style of wine coming out of Spain.
Each case contains 2 bottles of each wine listed below:
Name: Campbell Kind Wine 2019 Sauvignon Blanc
Country: NEW ZEALAND
This Sauvignon Blanc is a classic – with gooseberry, lime, crunchy green apple, honeydew melon and freshly cut grass. It’s a real lip-smacker on the palate, with piercing, zippy acidity and it punches well above its price point
Name: Badenhorst 2019 Secateurs Chenin Blanc
Country: SOUTH AFRICA
This wine comes from vines planted in the 1960s and is created by the cousin team behind Badenhorst. Their efforts (and wines) have been integral to the South African wine revolution. During winemaking, the grapes spend time on their lees, which gives the wine it's incredible texture. It has aromas of peach, honey and orange blossom and is incredibly silky and well-balanced.
Name: Cabert 2019 Pinot Grigio
This is a very fresh and easy-drinking wine. The grapes were fermented in steel without any skin contact, which is how it winds up so crisp. It is medium bodied with an abundance of citrus fruits, peaches and an hint of almond.
Name: DeLoach 2018 Pinot Noir Heritage Reserve
Country: UNITED STATES
DeLoach was established in 1973 by a firefighter from San Fransicso. He noted the similarities between the Russian River Valley and Burgundy and had a hunch the region had some potential. Their estate vineyards have been farmed biodynamically since early on. This Heritage Pinot is an elegant and well balanced wine, with classic red cherry and strawberry flavour as well as a hint of spice and forest floor.
Name: De Martino 2018 Gallardia Cinsault
“The very drinkable 2018 Gallardía del Itata Cinsault has good freshness and moderate alcohol. It was produced with fruit from a 35-year-old ungrafted, dry-farmed vineyard in Guarilihue in the commune of Coelemu. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and will be bottled unoaked. It has bright red aromas and a soft mouthfeel with round tannins and good freshness. It has the texture of the granite soils. With time, more spicy notes come out of the glass.” 91 Robert Parker
Name: Telmo Rodríguez 2017 Pegaso-ZETA
Most of the grapes for this wine come from vines that are 60+ years old and 890-920m high, near Cebreros. This 2017 is a punchy, straightforward and expressive Garnacha. Not only is tasty but it represents a significant change in direction towards fresher styles of red wine, with less reliance on oak. Only 13,000 bottles produced.
