Winemaker Notes

Located in south of Dijon, the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation is the top village of the Côte de Nuits. In 1847, by royal order of King Louis Philippe, the name Chambertin was attached to Gevrey and officially became Gevrey-Chambertin. The "Lavaut-Saint-Jacques" climate is located west of the village of Gevrey Chambertin, along the road that enters the Mountain to lead to the Combe Lavaut. Its origin comes from "Val" which in the Middle Age meant, apparently, a relief. The vines of this parcel flourish on the rock with a very red clay soil and fossil-bearing rocks.

Burghound

A firmly reduced nose renders the nuance moot. There is very solid punch and power to the intense and muscular flavors that exude a lovely minerality though the finish is presently slightly grippy, warm and rustic though not really short.
