Winemaker Notes
It is in 1120 that we find the first mention of Morey, sanctuary for Cistercian monks in the fourteenth century that probably had a lot of vineyards and even a winery already in 1306. The appellation extends to Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin has about 148 hectares consisting of 80% red wines. The plot is situated under the village of Morey-Saint-Denis between "Les Sorbès" and "Le Clos Baulet". It probably takes its name from one owner and measures only 3 hectares 32 ares. The vines face east and soils are composed of clay and limestone marl with white pebbles.
Burghound
An exuberant blend of various red berries, and in particular cherry, is laced with hints of floral and spice wisps. The punchy, intense and slightly finer middle weight flavors culminate in a dusty if slightly dry finish.
