Brothers Ben and Jake Fetzer grew up surrounded by the wine business and are the third generation of the Fetzer family to make wine in Mendocino County. Their late father Bobby planted the first vines at Masút and today the brothers honour his memory, running the vineyrads and winery as true labour of love. They do everything themselves and endeavour to grow the finest-possible fruit to produce their small batch Pinot Noirs, rich and opulent wines that echo the land they come from. The brothers are responsible for spearheading a petition for a new designation for the coastal mountain area the estate lies on and thanks to their efforts, Eagle Peak, Mendocino County, was recently recognized as its own AVA.

Winemaker Notes

Zosia Wines are inspired by my daughter Zosia Fetzer. At a young age her love for art was evident, and she covered the house with paints, crayons, pencils, glue, and artwork. One harvest we were playing around with carbonic maceration at the winery, and the wines were so unique, fresh, fun and a bit wild. It was a perfect match for Zosia’s art and personality. Now age 6, Zosia makes the wine label every year. These wines are truly made for fun!

Whole cluster dry-farmed Pinot Noir gently went direct to tank for 15 days of carbonic maceration before being whole cluster pressed. After primary fermentation, the wine quickly settled and bottled fresh with no malolactic fermentation. Bright red fruits and fresh acidity add to a light clean palate perfect for a warm day. Drink Chilled.
