Gigondas offers a rich bouquet with fine fruity spicy aromas sunny colour ranging from ruby to dark garnet. The nose reveals of red fruits very ripe black fruits. Full-bodied fleshy grenache noir releases all expression its power in this shimmering wine. Marked tannins and structured body with great aptitude for aging.

The Il Poggione 2018 Brunello di Montalcino reveals a dark and savory character with more fruit weight and concentration than you might find in many of its peers. This wine shows a dense center of gravity that is padded with dark cherry, blackberry, toasted spice, mahogany smoked meat and tilled earth. Despite the robust aromas, this Sangiovese is actually quite streamlined and polished in texture. The tannins are soft and veering toward accessibility. This is an ambitious production of 200,000 bottles. The estate's Riserva Vigna Paganelli was not made in 2018, so fruit from that wine went here instead.

This is a flavourful, layered Brunello with aromas of fresh and sour cherries, plums, bay leaves, rosemary and olives. Cloves and licorice, too. It’s medium- to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Sleek and well-integrated, with a lengthy and deliciously savoury finish.

Heitz Napa Cabernet Sauvignon - 2018

A pure, balanced and fresh Napa cabernet that is not just showing heady concentration and dark fruit. Here you get some violets, nimble flowers, redcurrants, graphite and fine spices. Some oranges, too. Fragrant and nuanced. Medium to full body with tight yet refined tannins. The elegance and balanced structure of the 2018 vintage will make this an incredible wine to drink upon release and will continue to reward with cellar aging.

 

Heitz Trailside Vineyard Cabernet - 2017

The silky tannins and tightly wound core of this wine are hallmark signs of this vintage’s aging potential. Blackberry, ripe raspberry, cassis liqueur, and briar notes fill the glass and are complemented by an earthy sweetness that Trailside has become synonymous with. Fresh vanilla, toasted nuts, and baking spice characteristics from the Limousin oak give an elegant lift to the ripe fruit notes.

 

Heitz Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - 2017

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard boasts gentle eucalyptus and vanilla shadings accenting bolder notes of cassis and black cherries. It's medium to full-bodied and firmly structured, aristocratic even, with a streamlined shape on the palate and a long, silky-textured finish.Keeps nice tension at the core while showcasing a flirtatious edge.

Bright garnet red with light orange reflections. Marchesi di Gresy - Barbaresco Martinenga Gaiun - 2018

A beautiful wine that shows the style of both the vintage and cru perched just above Asili. Dark cherry/plum, spice, menthol, licorice and a touch of nicely judged oak fill out the layers. Its balance is impeccable.

 

Marchesi di Gresy - Barbaresco Camp Gros Riserva - 2017

The freshness and firmness of this young 2017 Barbaresco is impressive. The wine is tight and reserved, but suggests greatness, offering cherries, dark cherries, dried flowers and crushed stones. Intense tannins. This is a wine for the cellar. Give it five or six years of bottle age. Try after 2027.
