This California Pinot Noir is an elegant, well-balanced wine offering mouthwatering flavours of Bing cherry and strawberry accented beautifully with just a touch of spice and hints of forest floor. The wine is light in body, with a medium finish and pairs perfectly with a variety of lighter dishes. 

 

The fruit for this Pinot Noir is primarily from the Delta region of California and is fermented in closed-top fermenters. A small portion is aged in seasoned barrels to impart slight oak characteristics to the wine, but most is kept in stainless steel in order to stay true to the wine’s lighter, food-friendly style. By fermenting and aging the majority of the fruit in closed stainless steel, we are able to retain the delicate fresh fruit aromas. This Pinot Noir, like many of the world’s finest wines, requires minimal handling.

Basa is made from Verdejo and Viura grapes in the Rueda DO, about two hours northwest of Madrid. The region is famous for fresh white wines made from Verdejo and this is a fitting example. The name comes from the 40-year-old 'baso' or bush-trained vines that are planted on limestone-rich soils at over 700-meters elevation on a plateau along the Duero River. The vineyard is farmed organically, and fermentation is carried out spontaneously with native yeast. Expect a fresh, fruit-driven white wine with just the right balance between charming fruit and aromatic complexity.

Six superb parcels of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc are selected to form the Annabel Sauvignon Blanc. One particular parcel is considered that special that it gets hand-picked for this ‘Grand Cru’ style wine. All parcels provide a unique expression; the ensemble delivers a range of vibrant flavours.

All parcels are fermented with different yeast strains, at different temperatures in order to emphasize the differences in fruit flavours and aromas. Obviously the handpicked parcel is special to us, we let it ferment and mature in barriques for some 5 months. Lees stirring these barrels further helps to creates that small percentage of a creamy / ‘leesy’ component. All this together ellevates the Annabel to a Grand Cru, subtle but complex still very recognisably ‘Marlborough’ Sauvignon Blanc.

Our mixture of multiple individual parcels, 4 different clones and a range of soil profiles provide us with great variation of fruit, each with unique flavour and tannin structure.

This Pinot Noir has lovely aromas of ripe black cherries and wild violets. In the mouth the wine has a grainy tannin structure and is intensely flavoured with sweet cherries, cedarwood and savoury characters such as dried herbs and wild game flavours. This is a sophisticated Pinot Noir with an ‘old world’ elegance and mineral lingering finish.

This wine is made with 50% Macabeo, 30% Xarel-lo and 20% Parellada. The grapes are handpicked and carefully harvested from mid-August until the end of September. The vines are between 20 and 30 years. They undergo a cold soak for several hours in order to maximize the primary aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a very low temperature between 12 -14 ºC for several days. The coupage wine obtained undergoes 2nd fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional “Méthode Champenoise”.

The 2020 LZ comes from an early harvest after a warm year not without challenges (mildew). The Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano grapes come from their own organically farmed vineyards and fermented in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts for 15 days; the wine matured in concrete for six to seven months before bottling. It's very primary and has notes of licorice and a juicy texture. Pablo Eguzkiza was telling me he likes 2020 better than 2019. The wine shows very good balance and fine, round tannins.

This wine is bright cherry in colour and on the nose it smells like fresh strawberries and dried berries. On the palate it has small, constant bubbles and juicy red fruit flavour. It is lively and well balanced.

 

This wine is made with 85% Trepat and 15% Pinot Noir. The grapes are manually harvested grapes at the beginning of October. They come from vineyards with the average age of vines between 25 and 30 years. Cava is made with the utmost winemaking techniques and the greatest care. The de-stemmed grapes undergo cold soak for several hours in order to maximize the primary aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a very low temperature between 12 -14 ºC for several days. The coupage wine obtained undergoes 2nd fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional “Méthode Champenoise”. We employ a strain of yeast which increases mannoprotein content in the cava in order to achieve velvety and creamy mouth feel. The cava ages in the silence of our cellar on its lees.

Red-fruited with notes of cherry, raspberry, strawberry but also has a hint of cassis. There is a slight dash of spice, dried herbs and floral character to it as well. Fresh and light with fine-grained tannins. Pop this in the fridge for 20 minutes and enjoy it with a slight chill! 

 

Fruit for this wine is sourced from 50-year-old vines, growing on hills around the cru sites in the northern part of region. The soil is partially granitic, which helps to retain heat in the day but cools off by the evening, contributing to the wine's fresh fruit quality. This Gamay is hand harvested, partially destemmed, undergoes semi-carbonic maceration and is fermented with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in stainless steel.

This bright yellow wine with pale greenish highlights is made from a careful selection of bunches of grapes. The bouquet conveys hints of citrus fruits, crusty bread and fleshy yellow fruit such as apricots. The taste is fruity and fresh, well-structured, with a well-balanced acidity and minerality.

 

Among the green hills of Western Sicily, a few kilometres from the ancient Norman town of Monreale, the Di Lorenzo family cultivates one of the native Sicilian grapes par excellence, Grillo. The grapes are hand-picked and then delicately destemmed and crushed. The cooled and softly pressed must is transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a temperature of 13°C. After 30-40 days of slow fermentation, the resulting wine is racked and kept on lees for at least a month to enhance its volume and structure. The wine is aged in steel for four months followed by two months’ bottle-ageing.

This classic Carneros region Pinot Noir offers a wide range of flavours and aromas, in the tradition of the finest red Burgundies of France. “Clonal diversity” is achieved by carefully blending several vineyard lots, each retaining its own unique clonal signature in the blend. The result is a complex wine with a rich bouquet of cherries, berries and hints of spicy new oak. It has flavors reminiscent of black cherry, currant and strawberry, followed by a rich, spicy texture and a long silky finish. This wine pairs nicely with lamb, duck, even grilled fish, and will improve with additional cellaring for 2 to 5 years.

Driven by a passion for exceptional Nebbiolo, the Travagli family has been producing remarkable, limited-production wines from their eponymous estate in Gattinara for four generations. The Travaglini family owns 59 hectares of vineyards; 55 of which are dedicated to vines, primarily Nebbiolo, which covers roughly 50% of the total Gattinara DOCG. A small portion of old vines, is planted to native varieties Vespolina and Bonarda.

Grapes are crushed and macerated for about 12-14 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine ages 4 months in stainless steel tanks, and is then aged 10 months in used Slavonian oak casks.

Bright fruit on the nose with nectarine, pear and melon. Followed by touches of spice, lemongrass and ginger, with hints of floral and scrub. Time in older oak, with close lees contact, has helped to give the wine breadth and depth on the palate and keeps the focus with a saline and savoury linger.

A dry white wine, Haarlem To Hope is a blend of Chenin Blanc (81%) and Semillon (19%). These heritage varieties were brought to the Cape Winelands by early Dutch settlers (from Haarlem) and are part of the cornerstones of grape growing in the Cape of Good Hope for more than three centuries.
