ATA RANGI

Ata Rangi, meaning ‘dawn sky’ or ‘new beginning,’ is a small family-owned organic winery located at the southern end of New Zealand’s North Island. Clive Paton, having never run a vineyard or made wine in his life, was one of the first to pioneer winemaking in the region when he planted his first vines on a stony sheep paddock at the edge of the Martinborough Village in 1980. The venture was soon joined by his sister Alison and wife Phyll. Today, alongside dynamic Winemaker Helen Masters they hand craft a collection of world class wines and are renowned for their exceptional Pinot Noirs.
