Brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella founded Falesco winery in the volcanic soils between Umbria and Lazio in 1979. Their goal was to revive historical indigenous grape varieties to an area where they had almost been considered extinct. Their daughters Dominga, Marta and Enrica officially took over management in 2017, and rebranded the estate’s historic Falesco name to Famiglia Cotarella to honour the family name and their native terroir. Their wines are known for their contemporary style that combine tradition and innovation to express the distinct character of the region.
