Enticing richness of aromas, including citrus, pears and almonds. Complex, fresh and precise attack with a lovely acidity in the mid-palate, with notes of citrus, pears and white flowers. Interesting complexity in the finish.
Le Soula is located in the the village of St Martin de Fenouillet near the Catalan border at the edge of France and Spain. Arguably one of the most original winemaking estates in the Roussillon today, the project was started by Gérard Gauby, the region’s most renowned winemaker and his partners, English investors, Mark Walford and Roy Richards. They sought out neglected vineyards high in the Pyrenean foothills with the goal of working their old, low-yielding vines biodynamically. Winemaker Wendy Wilson joined the team as manager in 2016 after seven years at the acclaimed Pithon-Paille. Today Wendy and her team produce elegant wines that combine freshness and vitality with a finesse that perfectly embodies the soil and the climate of the Roussillon.
