Alain Gueneau is a small family-owned estate located on the sloping hills that surround the village of Sury-en-Vaux at the Eastern end of the Loire valley.  Alain and his daughter Elisa are the 2nd and 3rd-generation of the Gueneau family to farm these vineyards which are characterized by calcareous clay soils known locally as “terres blanches”. They use an environmentally and sustainable approach to winemaking, endeavouring to preserve their unique terroir from which they produce artisan and classic wines of exceptional quality that are true representations of traditional Sancerre.
