Pierre Morin has quietly joined the inner circle of Sancerre’s leading winegrowers. This small family estate is located in Bué, arguably the most prestigious village in all of Sancerre and where the Morin family has farmed their small familial holdings for generations. In 1976 Pierre's father, Gérard shifted the family's focus toward viticulture, gradually expanding their vineyards from 1.5 hectares to 10 hectares within the Sancerre AOC. Since the arrival of Gérard's son Pierre Morin in 2004, the estate has continued to flourish. Pierre's focus is on quality instead of quantity, operating on the principle that great wine can only be produced from low yields and hand-harvested grapes - working hard to focus their vines' energy into producing a small amount of stunning fruit. Using natural methods in the vineyards and cellars, he avoids herbicides and uses natural yeasts for fermentation. Pierre has without a doubt elevated the family's wines to the next level and his commitment to quality is evident in the textured, terroir-driven Sancerre he produces.
