Mimmo and Valeria Costanzo are among Etna's most exciting new producers. In 2000 they purchased a breathtaking 7 hectare estate in the Contrada Santo Spirito cru, located partially within the Parco dell’Etna, a protected UNESCO site on the north slope of Mt. Etna. Today their focus is on small production natural wines. Grapes are grown organically on 120 years old vines and hand harvested in very low yields, a tribute to the first winemakers who painstakingly wove the history of Etna’s viticultural heritage into the landscape of the region. By far some of the most intriguing and beautiful wines to come out of Etna today.
