DECERO
Finca Decero is a single estate vineyard and the brainchild of Thomas Schmidheiny, a Swiss business magnate with a deep passion for wine. Schmidheiny bought a bare patch of land on a hillside in Agrelo, Mendoza after falling in love with the region during a motorcycle trip from Chile into the Andes. His new venture, “De Cero”a.k.a “from scratch” is now a flourishing vineyard which is immaculately managed by hand from vine to barrel. Decero was joined by head winemaker Juan E. Marcó in 2007, who has embraced Schmidheiny’s vision for a sustainably farmed, world class estate.

Decero Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic in style, with cedar graphite and cassis notes reminiscent of Bordeaux. The wine veers towards elegance and balance rather than opulence and power. Located at 3500 feet, in the renowned Mendoza appellation of Agrelo, our one-of-a-kind Remolinos Vineyard takes its name from ‘remolinos’ – whirlwinds which keep the grapes dry and in perfect condition before being handpicked each vintage.
91 Points, James Suckling

Malbec
Leafy notes on the nose blend with blackberry jam. This wine is medium-bodied and has a herbaceous character, with soft flavours of black fruit and tobacco."Located at 3500 feet, in the renowned Mendoza appellation of Agrelo, our one-of-a-kind Remolinos Vineyard takes its name from ‘Remolinos’ – whirlwinds which keep the grapes dry and in perfect condition before being handpicked each vintage. The hallmark style of Malbec from Remolinos Vineyard shows the intense violet aromatics and bright freshness and acidity which has come to define Decero Malbec. Elegant tannin complexity reflects beautifully integrated oak tannins following 14 months in French oak."
92 Points, James Suckling (previous vintage)
Cacao, fresh blackberries and blueberries with hints of violets and lemon zest. This fresh quality to the blue and black-fruit character extends to the palate, showing fluidity, coherence and drinkability. Lovely now, but will hold for a few years, too.
