Founded in 2010, Bodega Amalaya is located 1,600m above sea level in the rugged high dessert of Argentina's Calchaqui Valley. An area historically considered unfarmable, visionary Winemaker Donald Hess believed it had the potential to produce great wines. Today the region is known as one of the highest places in the world suitable for viticulture and is where Hess’s successors, Larissa and Christoph Ehrbar, produce a fantastic collection of award winning high altitude blends from the healthiest sustainably-farmed grapes in the Salta region.
