A very classic Duncan Savage white wine, showing blackcurrant leaf, pineapple, pear and grapefruit, backed by subtle wood spice.

76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon from Stellenbosch, the Overberg and Villiersdorp. Matured for 12 months in 500-litre barrels, of which 20% was new, and concrete eggs. Elderflower, blackcurrant and peach on the nose. The palate is super-rich and concentrated, creamy in texture, the acidity well integrated and the finish savoury. Alc: 13.7%.

“A best-ever release of Savage White in a challenging vintage, this is a beautifully judged cuvée of Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon, fermented in 20% new wood. Using fruit from Stellenbosch, the Overberg and Villiersdorp, it has a top note of stony reduction, pithy lemongrass and pink grapefruit flavours, scented, spicy oak and a palate of remarkable tension and energy.”
