A blend of three native grapes. It has refreshing lemon and green apple notes, some minerally sensations and a little breadiness. On the palate, it's refreshing, citric and savoury with lots of bright acidity.

 

This wine is from the northwest part of Lazio, near the border with Umbria. Legend has it that a bishop traveling to Rome would send a scout ahead of time to establish which inns were offering the best wines and he'd mark them with the word "Est" (which translates to “it is” in Latin). When he reached Montefiascone, the wine was so excellent there that the scout noted “Est! Est!! Est!!!” on the local inn’s front door, and so this wine is a nod to this story.

This is a young, immediate red which retains the essence of the earth from which it was cultivated. It is characterised by fragrant scents and fresh flavours and is the ideal accompaniment for any kind of dish. While molinara is no longer mandatory in the blend, it is prized here for its capacity to impart freshness. Sour red mountain fruit doused with mint, bitter herb and anise. This is packed tight with a concentrated, silky bead of ripe red berries and red cherries that drives through the palate, until fine, quite firm tannins block its path right at the end. Medium-bodied, but the concentration of fruit makes it feel heavier. Lots of energy here, but balance, too. Delicious now. Even better after another year in bottle. From organically grown grapes. Versatile and young, this wine has refreshing acidity and soft tannins. Deep ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, aromas of red fruit, blackberry, plum and licorice with hints of vanilla and leather. On the palate, full-bodied, with intense flavors of cherry, raspberry and spice culminating in a long and smooth finish. Outstanding with red meat, game and hard cheeses. Recommended ageing up to 5 years.

 

Driven by a passion for exceptional Nebbiolo, the Travagli family has been producing remarkable, limited-production wines from their eponymous estate in Gattinara for four generations. The Travaglini family owns 59 hectares of vineyards; 55 of which are dedicated to vines, primarily Nebbiolo, which covers roughly 50% of the total Gattinara DOCG. A small portion of old vines, is planted to native varieties Vespolina and Bonarda.

Grapes are crushed and macerated for about 12-14 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine ages 4 months in stainless steel tanks, and is then aged 10 months in used Slavonian oak casks.

This bright yellow wine with pale greenish highlights is made from a careful selection of bunches of grapes. The bouquet conveys hints of citrus fruits, crusty bread and fleshy yellow fruit such as apricots. The taste is fruity and fresh, well-structured, with a well-balanced acidity and minerality.

 

Among the green hills of Western Sicily, a few kilometres from the ancient Norman town of Monreale, the Di Lorenzo family cultivates one of the native Sicilian grapes par excellence, Grillo. The grapes are hand-picked and then delicately destemmed and crushed. The cooled and softly pressed must is transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a temperature of 13°C. After 30-40 days of slow fermentation, the resulting wine is racked and kept on lees for at least a month to enhance its volume and structure. The wine is aged in steel for four months followed by two months’ bottle-ageing.
