FAQ

’Consignment’ is an LCBO channel through which Ontario agencies can import wines (and spirits) by the case. This is often where restaurateurs, sommeliers, collectors and those-in-the-know purchase their wine. But there’s no reason you shouldn’t be buying wine through consignment too.

Lifford Wine & Spirits is the largest Consignment agent in Ontario. Here’s how it works with us: browse the 300 or so Consignment wines available on our website. There are products  from every corner of the globe to choose from. For 20 years we’ve been travelling the world in search of the finest wines for our exclusive portfolio. We’ve got iconic wines from producers like Joseph Phelps, Heitz, Felton Road, Felsina, Il Poggione, Domaine Weinbach, Brokenwood. And many more, at all price ranges.

Because those are the rules! Ontario laws dictate that we need to sell wines in the format that they arrived to us. The default is 12-bottle cases but we do have a number of wines available in 6-packs. Pre-designed mixed cases have recently been allowed — you can shop our current selection here: https://lifford.com/collections/mixed-cases. Custom cases are not permitted.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Lifford is not permitted to sell beverage alcohol but may arrange for purchases from the LCBO on the customer’s behalf. You must be 19 years of age or older to place or receive a wine order. The LCBO’s price for the products is available in advance from Lifford upon request and such price will appear on the customer’s invoice.
