Produced with the RIPASSO technique deliberately applied in a more restrictive way than the production specifications, it is obtained by passing the Valpolicella Classico over the Amarone pomace only once. The result is an authentic local wine that elegantly displays a beautiful complexity of fruity aromas and spicy tones well supported by good acidity and the right alcohol content. 

A deep intense ruby red colour, with hints of red fruit, spices and cocoa on the nose. Warming and smooth on the palate, nicely balanced by rounded tannins. Perfectly matches with meat and cheese based dishes.

Intense, graceful and perfumed, with sweet violets, blood oranges, dry mushrooms, pomegranates and black pepper. Silky and supple on the palate with medium body, crisp and brilliant acidity and firm, crunchy tannins. Long, savoury and balanced.

This Cru best interprets Traditional Barolo: the strength, fullness and longevity typical of this area. Aromas of dark cherries, roses, and tar dominate the nose, classic Nebbiolo notes. The palate is firm and tannic, with flavours of dried cherries, leather, and a hint of medicinal herbs. The astringent tannins leave a slightly drying sensation on the finish.

Cacao, fresh blackberries and blueberries with hints of violets and lemon zest. This fresh quality to the blue and black-fruit character extends to the palate, showing fluidity, coherence and drinkability. Lovely now, but will hold for a few years, too.

Really attractive ripe and pure chardonnay sourced from the Côte de Blancs villages of Avize, Cramant, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This has bright ripe peaches and nectarines in addition to mangoes, lemons and – not to mention some background chalky aromas. The palate's a riot of fleshy and flavorsome chardonnay fruit with a helping of stone fruits and another of green mango flavors and deeper-set citrus zest. Seamless balance flows to the finish. Drink now. Superb!

All our wines are organic and vegan, respecting each variety at all times, so that they express in the bottle the place where they come from. The altitude, cold climate and poor soils result in wines with their own personality. Different among them, as the varieties are different, but they all maintain a line of freshness, fruit and minerality of our terroir.

The influence of the Atlantic Ocean is on full display, with its moderating influence playing its part in bringing balance to this wine. While it is ripe and full bodied, much like its white counterpart, this is vibrant and focussed, with no shortage of complexity and minerality.

Telmo’s red wine, once again from Galicia, is a red that shows the character of the stony hills and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a red wine made of 100% Mencia, a Spanish varietal found scattered through the country’s northwest. The vineyards are organically farmed, and the fruit is fermented again in stainless steel in order to maintain freshness, and using indigenous yeasts.

Telmo Rodríguez’s journey through Spain reviving and recuperating vineyards has led him to work with 43 different varieties. Although established in Rioja, he has also put Málaga back on the map and worked with Garnacha in the Sierra de Gredos, as well as establishing wineries in other regions. This Mencía is fermented and aged in stainless steel, revealing the variety’s purity. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Forward, juicy aromas. Distinctly individual profile, with dense, succulent fruit and a long, ripe finish. Beth Willard: Pretty nose with tomato vine, sour cherry, floral. Very crunchy, green freshness and just the right amount of grippy tannin. Highly drinkable. David Williams: Lovely, pure, graceful and fragrant – full of violet and raspberry juice, racy and succulent with silky tannins and a twist of bergamot and blood orange tang, beetroot earthiness. This is light, crisp and steely with a cascade of citrus notes flooding in. Lemon, lime, Fiji pear and apple bounce around together. There is a creamy mouthfeel with a hint of banana which makes this a great midweek refresher.

It’s hard to pick just one of the many excellent Viogniers that Laurent Miquel produces around this price point, but for the money this is hard to beat, with its voluptuous white peach and nectarine fruit (harvested at night, as the name of the wine suggests).
