FREEMARK ABBEY

Freemark Abbey sits on same the site where a young widow named Josephine Tychson planted vineyards back in 1886, becoming the first woman to own and operate a viticultural estate in California. Today it is one of the most revered wineries in the Napa Valley and is home to one of the region’s most extensive wine libraries. Led now by Kristy Melton, the newly appointed successor to longtime Freemark Abbey Winemaker Ted Edwards, they are best known for crafting classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon from two of the most impressive and unique vineyards in the Rutherford appellation - the Bosche and Sycamore vineyards.
