This wine displays a deep cherry colour and a subtle, elegant nose. Fresh red fruits lead the bouquet, enriched by floral and hay notes. A hint of pepper adds spice in its youth, while aging will reveal riper fruit and deeper spice. The palate is refined and balanced, with flavours of crushed raspberry, redcurrant, blueberry, and touches of licorice and florals. Pairs beautifully with lamb tagine, aged beef, or small game dishes.

The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape displays supple strawberry jam, ripe raspberry, orange blossom and licorice. Mediumto full-bodied and inviting, the polished 2022 offers plenty of bang for the buck and culminates in a juicy finish.

Intense yellow with light emerald highlights. The nose offers pear, peach, and quince, layered with white flowers and a hint of flint. On the palate, pure limestone terroir shines through a mineral, saline structure, finishing with a delicate bitterness. A perfect match for monkfish tail with saffron,scallop tartare, grilled lobster or hard cheeses.

Generous yet fresh, with a lovely mix of chamomile, green plum and zesty lime peel on a creamy, ripe palate. An herbal thread weaves through, with salty mineral notes lining the fleshy finish, marked by sweet and savory spices. Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne and Bourboulenc.

The appearance of this natural wine is pale yellow and is slightly cloudy, due its lack of processing. On the nose, strong aromas of banana, apple and pear blend with toasted brioche. In the mouth, it is full-bodies and rich, with a creamy refreshing and fruity acidity. 

The vineyards at Viña Echeverría are located in the Curicó Valley and the rows are planted in an east-westerly direction to potentiate the sun’s exposure. We work with a model of micro viticulture, which means that each plot, no more than half a hectare, is identified according to its terroir and microclimate and planted, pruned, irrigated and harvested accordingly, resulting in grapes of optimum quality and flavor.

An attractive nose of citrus rind, white flowers, and wet stone. On the palate, the wine is racy and mineral with just a touch of salinity. The hallmark of the great 2022s will be tension and length and Sébastien’s little wine has both in spades. Incredible acidic cut will make this fantastic at the table and a great candidate for short term aging.

 

The wines of Domaine Christophe all display classic Chablis notes of shells and green apples on the nose, along with a pretty, underlying hint of white flower and lemon. It's the kind of bright nose that gives the drinker an intimation of the acidity and tension that will follow on the palate, which is indeed nervy but also generous with an appealing balance of flavours offset by a rocky, shell-y harmony. The wine finishes with the sort of mouth-coating minerality and mouth-watering citrusy acidity that makes Chablis a favourite amongst lovers of wines that truly reflect their terroir.

All our wines are organic and vegan, respecting each variety at all times, so that they express in the bottle the place where they come from. The altitude, cold climate and poor soils result in wines with their own personality. Different among them, as the varieties are different, but they all maintain a line of freshness, fruit and minerality of our terroir.

The influence of the Atlantic Ocean is on full display, with its moderating influence playing its part in bringing balance to this wine. While it is ripe and full bodied, much like its white counterpart, this is vibrant and focussed, with no shortage of complexity and minerality.

Telmo’s red wine, once again from Galicia, is a red that shows the character of the stony hills and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a red wine made of 100% Mencia, a Spanish varietal found scattered through the country’s northwest. The vineyards are organically farmed, and the fruit is fermented again in stainless steel in order to maintain freshness, and using indigenous yeasts.

Telmo Rodríguez’s journey through Spain reviving and recuperating vineyards has led him to work with 43 different varieties. Although established in Rioja, he has also put Málaga back on the map and worked with Garnacha in the Sierra de Gredos, as well as establishing wineries in other regions. This Mencía is fermented and aged in stainless steel, revealing the variety’s purity. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Forward, juicy aromas. Distinctly individual profile, with dense, succulent fruit and a long, ripe finish. Beth Willard: Pretty nose with tomato vine, sour cherry, floral. Very crunchy, green freshness and just the right amount of grippy tannin. Highly drinkable. David Williams: Lovely, pure, graceful and fragrant – full of violet and raspberry juice, racy and succulent with silky tannins and a twist of bergamot and blood orange tang, beetroot earthiness. Produced with the RIPASSO technique deliberately applied in a more restrictive way than the production specifications, it is obtained by passing the Valpolicella Classico over the Amarone pomace only once. This is light, crisp and steely with a cascade of citrus notes flooding in. Lemon, lime, Fiji pear and apple bounce around together. There is a creamy mouthfeel with a hint of banana which makes this a great midweek refresher.

It’s hard to pick just one of the many excellent Viogniers that Laurent Miquel produces around this price point, but for the money this is hard to beat, with its voluptuous white peach and nectarine fruit (harvested at night, as the name of the wine suggests).
