Echeverria Sauvignon Blanc Reserva / Curico Valley, Chile
The grapes for this wine are hand-picked and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. This vibrant and pristine Sauvignon Blanc combines grassy aromas of fresh herbs and green pepper, with citric notes of grapefruit and lime. The palate is fresh and crisp, with a natural balanced acidity and a fruity finish.
Telmo Rodriguez Basa / Rueda, Spain
Basa is made from Verdejo and Viura grapes in the Rueda DO, about two hours northwest of Madrid. The region is famous for fresh white wines made from Verdejo and this is a fitting example. The name comes from the 40-year-old 'baso' or bush-trained vines that are planted on limestone-rich soils at over 700-meters elevation on a plateau along the Duero River. The vineyard is farmed organically, and fermentation is carried out spontaneously with native yeast. Expect a fresh, fruit-driven white wine with just the right balance between charming fruit and aromatic complexity.
Cabert Pinot Grigio / Friuli, Italy
Fruity, balanced, hints of nuts and toasted bread. Hors d’oeuvre, soups, fish and white meat.
Le Poggere Bianco Est! Est!! Est!!! / Lazio, Italy
This wine is from the northwest part of Lazio, near the border with Umbria. Legend has it that a bishop traveling to Rome would send a scout ahead of time to establish which inns were offering the best wines and he'd mark them with the word Est (which translates to “it is” in Latin). When he reached Montefiascone, the wine was so excellent there that the scout noted “Est! Est!! Est!!!” on the local inn’s front door, and so this wine is a nod to this story. A blend of three native grapes. It has refreshing lemon and green apple notes, some minerally sensations and a little breadiness. On the palate, it's refreshing, citric and savoury with lots of bright acidity and a lively fish.
Chateau de Caraguilhes Cochon Volant Blanc / Corbieres, France
40% Viognier, 30% Vermentino, 30% Colombard. Beautifully clear, a very pale golden color with tints of green, revealing a lovely freshness. Very expressive with lemony notes. Lovely Freshness. The light, aromatic roundness comes from the Viognier grape, while the Colombard contributes the body. An easy-drinking wine, ideal to share with friends. Pair with grilled mussels, monkfish with fennel, oysters, or on its own as an aperitif.
Hess Shirtail Ranches Chardonnay / California, USA
Our 352 acre Shirtail Creek estate vineyard takes advantage of Monterey’s cooling fog and Pacific coastal breezes, drawn across the Gabilan Mountains into the Salinas Valley, creating an ideal climate for growing Chardonnay. The moderate temperatures lengthen the growing season, allowing the fruit to evolve with layers of distinct Central Coast flavors. Our Chardonnay is fermented and aged in stainless tanks without any oak or malolactic influence. Shirtail Ranches Chardonnay is a hallmark representation of a coastally-influenced wine. We age this Chardonnay sur lie for approximately 6 months. A touch tropical, our Chardonnay is crisp and clean, bright with balanced acidity, that lets the signature lemon-lime and a touch of apple flavors of Monterey shine through.
