Each case contains 2 bottle of each:
Tawse Quarry Road Riesling - 2021
Organically farmed, this wine has complex notes of white flower, slate, and petrol. The palate reveals candied ginger, pineapple, and pear. Well-balanced Rieslings such as this one are well suited for foods with some acidity such as an apple glazed pork belly, or any dish with a bit of spice like Pad Thai.
Tawse Grower's Blend Cab Franc - 2020
Made from select Cabernet Franc vineyards in Niagara. The Grower’s Blend Cab Franc from the 2020 vintage is ripe, rich and smooth due to the near-perfect growing conditions. Barrel aged for 16 months, this wine shows notes of blueberry, blackberry, cigar box. A prime example of of how well Cabernet Franc does as a single varietal in Ontario.
Bachelder Gamay Wiley - 2022
A pure mid-cherry colour that leads to a graceful pomegranate, sour-cherry and cherry-pit nose and offers a fuller mouthfeel with a muted fruit and a rusty, iron-tinged edge so typical of Bench wines. Make no mistake: there is great volume developing here. The “cérises vanillées” ride on a great wave of orange zest and grenadine-like fruit that almost obscures the liquorice-all-sorts complexity.
Bachelder Villages Pinot - 2020
Elegant, immense and lightly astringent. A great, corrupt nose of red and black fruit shines – currently with cloves and spice behind and already turning agreeably tertière! Lovely and rose-petaled, and rich in the mouth. The striking acidity and the glycerine-silkiness simply surprise! The finish is long, and only slightly (but ripely) tannic. Shockingly good now, yet so ageable over half a decade! Here, right here, is a wine that will be largely drunk TOO YOUNG - but still has much, so much to give, to reveal! If you want to age a truly great Pinot Noir that doesn’t cost $$$, this is the one!
The Long Way Home Chardonnay - 2022
A classic expression of Chardonnay grown in the cool-climate of the Beamsville Bench. Made from a single vineyard with minimal intervention, this is a blend of cool, skin fermented and whole bunch pressed, barrel fermented fruit, aged for 10 months in French oak. The wine shows fresh aromatics, balanced natural acidity and a fine, creamy texture.
Benjamin Bridge Brut - NV
In the glass, a pale golden colour with a straw hue. On the nose, the wine displays suggestions of smoke and lemon rind with strong sea minerals undertones. The palate is luscious, but with good intensity and vibrancy. Hints of green apples and dried cranberries are magnified by the wine’s bright structure, unfolding in a lengthy mineral finish.
